Hello,
I have a RedHat v7.3 (kernel 2.4.18-27.7.xsmp) server running TSM v5.1.6.4 with a 3584 LTO Library. According to IBM, the only Linux kernel level that is supported with the IBMtape device driver that is needed to get the LTO drives recognized by the system is kernel 2.4.18-10.
My Linux administrator claims that kernel 2.4.18-10 is buggy and can possibly corrupt filesystems. Has anyone had any sucess with installing the IBMtape device driver on a Linux RedHat v7.3 system with a kernel level higher than 2.4.18-10?
Thanks.
Tony
