TSM on AWS

So I was reading this article:

Based on the information provided

7 TB in 3 Hours

that is 2.34 TB per hour

This is silly! We restore 10 TB in 30 mins or less with on prem backups.

Anyways, we have 3.5 PB of data and going by the above case study, it would take 62.5 days to complete restore from AWS???

I'd rely on the blueprint. There's sizing involved and measurements provided based on the blueprint size in Chapter 3: https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/ibm-spectrum-protect-cloud-blueprints

I would love to know your setup/infrastructure! Still struggling with vm restores but oh well.

Ad blockers are a must for that site. Seems legitish. Older content and what not on there.

TSM Server sized for large environment, 256gb memory, with container pools in 10k drives. Plain and simple. off topic, but what kind of restores? Whole VM restore? Single file?

Anyways, I came here to ask, if anyone has experience setting up TSM in AWS.

1. Use TSM in isolated server /container configuration
2. Configure TSM in a GPFS cluster with multiple instances and shared storage.

yes tsmtutorials is a legit good site for info and knowledge ..but i do agree those pop-ups keep on generating - it sucks
