Hello,

I am about to start installing the TSM client on Oracle Linux installations.

Oracle Linux is a VM Guest
Client OS Version: Oracle Linux 6.4
TSM Client version: 7.1.4
TSM Server OS: AIX 7.1
TSM Server version: Spectrum Protect 7.1.4

Can anyone post a modern, default dsm.sys/dsm.opt file with recommended settings and excludes? It's been a little while since I've done this and I'm sure things have changes.

It is much appreciated,

Drew

Marclant, thank you for the reply. My question is about "Oracle Linux", not "Oracle Database". In fact, the Oracle Linux boxes I am configuring don't even run a database. Oracle Linux is basically a Red Hat Linux variant.

From a Linux Spectrum Protect Client .sys file and .opt file, what are the recommended settings and excludes?

Thanks again!

Drew

Sorry, not used to Oracle Linux, I assumed a DB.

No problem Marclant! Many people thinkg the same thing as many people aren't aware of Oracle Linux. Here is what I am going to start with, at least:

SErvername tsmprod03
nodename tsmlinuxclient
COMMmethod TCPip
TCPPort 1600
TCPServeraddress tsmprod03
managedservices webclient schedule
httpport 1581
webports 1582 1583
passwordaccess generate
errorlogname /var/log/tsm/dsmerror.log
schedlogname /var/log/tsm/dsmsched.log
errorlogretention 30,D
schedlogretention 30,D

I was hoping someone may have some tuning recommendations for things like TCPWINDOWSIZE, TCPBUFFSIZE, TXNBYTELIMIT, etc. Also, some default excludes would help me with testing.

Thanks again for your reply!

Yeah there isn't anything really different on our oracle linux clients than our centos clients. The only excludes we do are based off the applications running on said client.
