Hi all,

anyone know best way to setup tsm client/hsm so you dont end up with files being backed-up after they have been retrieved from HSM?

ie; file on server, gets backed up, then migrated via HSM. Then the file is retrieved and gets backed-up again.

Are there any special statements you can put into dsm.opt on TSM client specifically for HSM ?

thanks

Is this an issue you are having...or trying to plan for?

I thought with TSM 5.5 there was better integration between TSM and HSM and the issue you are describing was fixed.

In Windows platform:

If you have made a backup before migrating de file to TSM server, when this file has been recalled to client server, it won't be backed again.

Be crefull whith two scenarios:

1. When you made a selective o archive backup then a recall of all files will occur.

2. Whe you made a incremental backup yoy must set in dsm.opt SKIPMIGRATED YES or otherwise all the files will be recall.

This product has a lot of traps
