Hi,
we moved a SAP environment to a new infrastructure (IBM P8, Hitachi G1000, SAN Brocade DCX, SP 7.1.9 on 4 channel LTO6).
Bigger SAP datafiles are circa 800 per 32GB each plus other 100 files for a total of 27TB, the problem is that backup starts at 1,3GB/sec then it slows down to circa 500MB/sec. We checked everything on the SAN and storage but we found nothing.
So we checked the old environment and found that backup always worked this way, starting at 700MB/sec and slowing to 500.
Is it possible that is SP/backint itself that slows down as it has to work with smaller files?
