Can anyone give me a good reason why TSM BAC is better for backing up Windows Server 2008/2012 (including AD) than some native Windows backup tool (or any other for that purpose)? I don't have specific backup requirements, all I know this should cover file shares, system state, AD objects. I am aware that TSM BAC can do all of that stuff, but I need arguments why is better than the rest.

If you focus solely on the ability to backup/restore Windows, they are probably very similar. Where Spectrum Protect (formely known as TSM) is different is when it comes to the Enterprise, it can backup your entire environment, AIX, Linux, Windows, VMs, databases, email. Central management, scheduling and reporting. Take advantage of deduplication, replication, cloud storage.
