FYI: Below is the reply I received from IBM/TSM support on this question:

IBM Update Dec 15, 2009 07:29:00 PM UTC
CLIENT REP:N/A
ACTION TAKEN:
TSMBE REVIEW:
Research finding indications that vSphere4 is The next version of ESX
Server beyond 3.5, and is not currently supported. ETA for support
has not been announced, and Support Line does not have further
knowledge of it. Further information on possible future support will
need to be addressed to the customers marketing Rep.

Pretty lame, "Unsupported & No ETA"? Good job, considering that there are several other backup solutions already supporting it. Go figure.

For those interested I thought I would update this topic...

TSM 6.2 will utilize the vStorage API's for FLB, the product goes GA tomorrow and the documentation should be online then. OBviously VCB will still be supported.

I will try to update this thread with links once I have them.

Can anyone point me in the direction of the documentation about using TSM 6.2 with the vStorage API.

I have just finished deploying TSM in a small greenfields environment and I would love to leverage this technology.

I was looking back and force on the Info Center for 6.2 and found whole bunch of references to VCB still but nothing about vStorage API. Is it really supported or "in the next release" ?
