TSM activity log - restore?

We have our retention set for the activity log for 60 days. If we needed to see that log from earlier, is there any way to restore that? I understand it isn't really a file (or is it??) but inherent in the database - please correct me if I am wrong. We are running v6.3.3

It's stored as a table in the database, so you would need to restore the database from a previous date. You could actually setup TSM temporarily on a test server big enough to hold the database, do the restore, connect to it, query the actlog. I'm not sure if the server will purge the old entries in the activity log when you start it after the restore. One way around that would be to change the date on the machine, one more reason to do that on a test box.
 
Thanks marclant. That's exactly what I thought. I would have overlooked the date thing and got burned by that!
