Hi,

If we have a single Windows server but with 3 TSM instances running on it (don't ask, its not in production!). Can we upgrade each instance separately or do they all need to be upgraded at the same time? From the 7.1.6 install wizard can we just pick which instance to upgrade and leave the others for another day?

They will all need to be upgraded, but you only install the software once:
Tip: If you have multiple server instances on your system, install the Tivoli Storage Manager software only once to upgrade all server instances.

The preparation steps also specify to prepare for all instances

Gather information about each DB2 instance. Note the default database path, actual database path, database name, database alias, and any DB2 variables that are configured for the instance. Keep the record for future reference. This information is required to restore the V6 database.

Thanks. That makes it sound like you have to upgrade all the instances at the same time.
