In the 6.2 installation guide IBM recommends setting Linux kernel parameters (shmmni, shmmax, shmall, semmni, semmsl, semmns, semopm, msgmni, msgmax and msgmnb), and they have links in the docs to the DB2 docs. In the DB2 docs it mentions that for version 9.5 fix pack 6 and above this is not necessary (the database increases parameters when it starts, though they don't survive a reboot). I am *brand new* to 6.2 and from what I can tell the DB2 version is 9.7 so I shouldn't need to set these setting by hand. Is the documentation just out of date or is the db2 instance installed with TSM crippled so it cannot update these values?
