We use a NetApp 2040. The data is backed up via NDMP for each volume. TOC is set up. If we start a Retore the TOC is read. This reading takes up to an hour at a given volume (856 GB). The readout of the TOC in the other volumes are much quicker. As example: The TOC in a 800 GB volume takes only a few minutes. Depends on the reading of the TOC of the number of files? That is, the more files the longer the reading? Or must we set some special parameters?
We use TSM 5.5.4.

The bigger the number of files, the longer the restore takes place. This becomes worst when there is a large number of files and each file is very small in size.

That's what I almost thought. Thanks for the quick reply. Then we'll probably even have to clean up on the drive.
