Hello all,
I'm new to configuring TKLM and had a question about the configuration of keys. I know you can assign keystores per a group of drives, but the setup I inherited has keystores assigned per drive. There are plenty of keys to work with, but I'm curious ... if drive A assigns a key to a new tape, does that mean ONLY drive A can read that tape? Or ... if all the drives are part of the same LTO group, do they share the keys? In other words, if keys are assigned per drive, can drive B read a tape if the key was originally assinged from drive A?
I'm wondering what this would look like if drive A suddenly became unavailable and a tape that was assigned a key through drive A was needed for a restore.
Sincere thanks for any thoughts or input,
C.J.
