Hello,
I am new to the forum, but I have use it in the past as a guest!
I am writing due to I would like some help from the community. I want to implement a three-way backup for a NetApp filer with TSM server. Unfortunately, I spend three days searching on the net, with no results.
It is possible to make NDMP backup for the whole cluster, if the backup application is CAB aware (Cluster Aware Backup). Unfortunately TSM v6.1 we use is not (and I couldn't find any support for it on TSM v7). So the other option is to use the "Three way backup model".
We have a NetApp filer configured in cluster mode. (FILER1). The cluster has inside 2 nodes (FILER1-01 and FILER1-02). On the FILER1-01 is attached with Fiber connection a Tape library (SPECTRA t50e) with a tape drive (IBM LTO).
We want to implement NDMP backups from FILER-02 to FILER-01 (ie, the FILER-02 to user the library and tape drive).
I succesfully defined library/drive/datamover/paths for the node that the tape is connected (FILER1-01), and also took a NDMP backup.
From the other node, it is not possible to "see" the library /tape devices that they are connected to first node.
The problem is how to connect the other node in order to use the tape drive that is connected to other node, in order to take backups. May anyone has an idea how to do it?
thank you in advance!
