When you copy/paste files to a new location, the inherit the permissions of the new location. So they inherited D: permissions. When copying it back, if he logged in with a Windows account other than the instance owner ID, then the files would now be owned by that user. So two things:
- make sure the files are owned by the instance owner and that the instance owner have full permissions on all the files
- make sure he is logged in as the instance owner

y,they did not backup DB with caritage.
That explains why the logs filled, need to backup the DB to purge the archive log.

thank you marclant,When we install tsm for windows, most of us use the windows administrator, this is quite diffrent from th linux and unix,
did people use instance user id such as tsminst1 in windows?I used to install tsm on Linux and AIX,This is my first installation on windows platform.

Generally yes, but it's not a requirement, just general Windows security best practice to not the local administrator account. That's also how the step in the manual suggest to do it.
