TDP for VE limitation

I would like to ask some help!

I have to make a plan for vmware vm's backup and i should know few things what I cant find.
Is there any limitation of vm backup threads? How many vm can i backup parallel?

I know i can set vmmaxparallel, vmlimitperhost, vmlimitperdatastore , but it depends on me. My question concern to TSM TDP for VE and VMWARE.

I will send the backups to diskpool, so i think the number of drives does not matter in this case. If i send the vm directly to tape, the number of tapes can determine the number of the vm's what can be backed up in the same time.

What about vmware? How many snapshot can be exist during the backup?
1., Sperctrum Protect 7.1.3 and vmware 5.5
2., Spectrum protect 8.1.x and vmware 6.5

Limitations are by type of transport you use. Big one is the NBD does have some drawbacks. Here's a handy doc from vmware:

I really recommend not sending the vmware backups directly to tape, or even migrating to tape unless you setup this: https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSEQVQ_8.1.6/client/r_opt_vmctlmc.html

The control files will kill your tape mounts.

Only limitations I found if using hotadd is how strong your whole infrastructure is. Push it till it screams, and then dial it back if need be. Just make sure your TSM server can handle the mount points. Be sure to update your vmware client node in TSM to set the correct mountpoints as well.

I found some forum notes and article about SCP. It could make the vmware vm backups more slowly too.
