TCP/IP communication failure

Hi all,

I installed TSM Server 5.4 and got configured.Then I tried to installed TSM Client 5.4 .while configuring I gave the correct Node name(TSM Client 1) ,Server address(x.x.x.x) and tcp port(1500) but it displays the error as

"ANS5216E Could not establish a TCP/IP connection with address 'x.x.x.x'. The TCP/IP error is 'Unknown error' (errno = 10061). "

" ANS4039E Could not establish a session with a TSM server or client agent. The TSM return code is -50. "

"Data was written to the options file, however there was at least one error that must be fixed before we can connect to a server."


I tried with some other port number too like (1501,1502) but its helpless.I'm getting the same error.

Help me out to solve this issue.

which port does the tsm-server use? default is 1500
try to check if it is respond on this port. is the server up?

hi

Ping the server ip from client and client ip from the server. Check the status in that. If it is fine then go to etc\host and give the machinename and ip in both the server and client

register node in the server 1st then do the steps in client side

try and let me know the status

I guess the client is not registered in the Server.....
