Hi,

Hope I'm in the right forum - either here or Backup/Archive or Tape/Media Library?

I have a tape that is phsically in my tape library - I checked the Inventory->Status Operator panel of my 3582 Tape library - the tape vol does exist.

Trying to remove a reference to tape in my view of the Library Vols in TSM DB.
I ran two "audit library" processes w/ checklabel=-yes and barcode.

tsm: WMNATCHTSM>audit libr LTOLIB1 checklabel=yes
ANS8003I Process number 38 started.

tsm: WMNATCHTSM>q proc

Process Process Description Status
Number

38 AUDIT LIBRARY ANR8459I Auditing volume inventory for library
LTOLIB1.

This volume does not want to disapper from my TSM DB?

tsm: WMNATCHTSM>run QUERY_VOLUME_HISTORY WS0065L2

As you can see it was deleted.
Tried to delete it but it isn't there!

tsm: WMNATCHTSM>q vol WS0065L2 f=d

Not here in DRM either...

Now for a Hee-Haw bit because I am blue...
"Where o' where is my tape vol - why did it leave me here all aloooone...."
<smile>

Shall I just export/remove it from the tape library via Operator panel and re-checkin as scratch - correct?

Any comments or ideas?
How did this happen?
Thanks,

-P

Del volume does not remove a volume from the TSM database, but rather it deletes a STORAGE POOL VOLUME Notice that the last entry in the volhistory is a STGDELETE, which indicates it is no longer in a storage pool.
