Spectrum Protect server v7 and v8 on same OS

Hello,

We currently have a Production Spectrum Protect v7 server running on RedHat 7.9. We want to install a new Spectrum Protect v8 server alongside it in the same OS instance and gradually re-point the backup clients from the v7 server to the v8 server.

Does anyone know if there are any issues running v7 and v8 servers together in the same OS instance?

You can't run both on the same machine. I'd upgrade the current instance instead to V8.

Do you know the reason why it isn't possible to run concurrent v7 and v8 instances in the same OS space if they have totally separate filesystems for DB, log active/archive, stgpools and instance home etc and use different IPs/port numbers?

Running 2 instances in parallel is not the issue, it's installing 2 different versions.
