Spectrum Protect on Windows (2016r2) (VMware) Data Domain for backup

Looking for documentation or guidance from this group.
I have installed Spectrum v8.1.9 on Windows and need to target DataDomain for backup storage.
I am looking for specifics for DD configuration and how to mount the DD FS to the windows server
Do i create the DD Mtree/FS as a CIFS share?
do i map the drive to the windows server?
is the device type in Spectrum a Sequential File

I have installed the OC on same server as this is for Proof of concept.
we need to backup Isilon FS (CIFS and NFS) using Specturm Protect NDMP
Target is existing Data Domain
