Hi,

Has anyone managed to get the v7.1.6 OC to install on a Windows server?
I have now tried two servers and both hang for hours on....

"installing: [com.tivoli.dsm.encode.ssl.utilitySSLPasswordEncoder]

Both servers are Windows 2012 R2. One has Spectrum Protect server 7.1.6 installed, and did have v7.1.4 of the OC running (but the upgrade to 7.1.6 screwed this up). The other server is just a backup client.

I've been unable to find any help on the IBM site regarding this and cannot find the log file that Installation Manager is writing to, so can't debug. (C:\program files\ibm\installation manager\log does not exist). After upgrading the server component from 7.1.4 to 7.1.6 the Installation Manager repository loses all references to the fact that the 7.1.4 OC was ever installed!

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers
Darren

I haven't. The only suggestion I have is check the readme in case there is something different you need to do, or a new requirement. Other than that, open a PMR with IBM Support

I had the same problem happen to me with a previous version of operation center. It turned out that the SSL password I gave during the installation was the problem, even though I respected the password rules on top of the screen.

After using a different password, the installation completed successfully.
