hello every body
information about the environnement :

• Version of IBM Spectrum Protect Virtual Environments : 8.1.0
• vCenter version and build number : Version 6.0.0 Build: 3339083
• ESX host version and build number: ESXi, 6.0.0, 3620759
• Operation being attempted and the resulting output

The problem is: whene i would access the web interface GUI for virtual environment for the first time
i have this error


GVM0022E The VMCLI inquire configuration command failed , the fiollowing messages describe the error
ANS1464S (RC5802) cannot load ICC encryption Library
FMM16014I the return code is 2

You will find as an attachment the error

any help pleazzzz

it' a windows server
and the License File is installed int this path C:\Program Files\Tivoli\TSM\TDPVMware

i restart many times without resolving the problem

or just (only) specify in DSM.OPT:

TESTFLAG NOAES


Remark: AES encryption (128 and 256) would be still possible with include.encrypt.

I've installed 2 or 3 new Spectrum Protect 8.1 servers (Win) with the 8.1 Client to access the cli without issue.
All of a sudden I now have one particular new install which is deciding not to play ball (even after countless uninstall's / re-installs and repairs to the client software) and I get the very error in this thread within the clients dsmerror.log.

05/09/2017 17:44:46 ANS8023E Unable to establish session with server.


I am not one for just sticking in temporary fixes like the 'testflag noaes' line within the dsm.opt file, but would rather know what the underlying cause and permanent fix is?

Anyone come across this before and know whats going on?

The cause is often a dodgy dll (tsmapi64.dll)

This can be remedied by doing the following actions..

1. Completely uninstall your BA client software (8.1)
2. Making sure all references to the file tsmapi64.dll are gone.
3. Rename the '\Program Files\tivoli\TSM\baclient' dir
4. Rename the '\Program Files\Common Files\Tivoli\TSM\API64\gsk8' dir
5. Download the latest TSM for VE WIN fix [8.1.0.2] from IBM's Fix Central ftp site <-- Available since 8th May 2017
6. Run the install, selecting only the DataMover option first. <this also re-installs the BA Client afresh with a more stable tsmapi64.dll>
7. Install any remaining components required for your TSM for VE backup operations.

My ANS1464S issues are now a thing of the past...

Obviously IBM will combine this fix within it's next 8.1.x release of the SP clients.
