Hi there,

When I try to run space reclamation for our DRM storage pool I get message ANR1163W (Offsite volume still contains files which could not be moved) for two tape volumes. When I query the volume it shows as pct. utilized 0.0 and volume status full. I'm just wondering what the best approach is for these tapes to get them reclaimed and back in use as scratch tapes??

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,

Chris

Since we are using the DRM feature.
What is the state of the volume in question (Q DRM volume_name F=D ).
If the volume is in the status of VAULT, will have to wait until the status change to VAULTRetrieve.
If the volume is in VAULTRetrieve, bring the tape back on site, check the tape in as scratch and the tape should be ready for use.

Good Luck,
Sias

Hi Sias,

It is in the status of VAULT.

Is there a way to determine when the status will change to VAULTRetrieve?

pct. utilized 0.0 and volume status full.
Full means that it was written to up to the end at one point. Less than 100% utilized means some data has expired.
0.0% utilized means less than 0.05% utilized
0.1% utilized means it's .05% or more utilized

ANR1163W (Offsite volume still contains files which could not be moved) for two tape volumes.
Check the activity log for error messages reading the input volumes during the offsite reclamation. That will give you more info.
