Scratch & Empty tapes

Hi,



I have 10 tapes with status "empty" defined on storage pool. When i run a backup the job request a scratch tape. How can a change the status from " empty" to "scratch".

Verify the status of the volume. If, for example, the status ist "offsite" the volume will not become scratch unless the status is changed to "readwrite"

Run tape reclamation for the storage pool(s) that these tapes belong to by issuing the command -



update stg <poolname> reclaim=99



They should then become scratch tapes. Then set your reclaim % back to 100.
