schedule Failed ANR2579E with RC=8

Dear All,

We are using TSM server 5.3.5 .

One of the schedule on my server shows failed in q eve but in log file it dont show any failed files.And backup also completed.

In activity log , i am getting ANR2579E error code with RC=1.

In dsmerror.log file,i am getting this message.
ANS 1909E The scheduled command failed.
ANS 1512E scheduled Event "monday sched" failed -Return code = 8.
Any one kindly help me to find out the reason for this.

Hi Vasanth,

Before processing i like to knoe that the Same client facing the problem. Is other clients as getting this.
Is this client is dataprotection Client.

If it is dataprotection client you can change the location of the command file to be executed to the diffetent partition/Filesystem and then schedule with that new updated path. Please make sure that the Command file and the Application not installed in the same partition/Filesystem.

Once your clear with that i can give suggestions.

hi,

on the client side RC=8 is usually associated with archiving processing, which might have nothing to do with backup processing ending correctly. This would be in line with the fact that your backup is completed without errors.

Hi,

I get the same error. Since dint get any solution and backup is completed started to live with it.I get rc -99 for which ibm asks to update patches which i did and of no use.This problem is interminnent for me. What about you?

ANR2579E with RC=8 indicates that the operation completed with at least one warning message. For scheduled events, the status will be Completed. Review dsmerror.log (and dsmsched.log for scheduled events) to determine what warning messages were issued and to assess their impact on the operation.

Hi,

Only one client getting this problem.
It is Ba client not TDP.
Some days it is finished with successful and some days it giving the above error msg.

In our env they are taking a flash copy of one server into another test server (from db server to test).After that we are scheduling the backup to test server.

And we having the script in different mount pt.
