saving output to file

From the unix command line in dsmc or dsmadmc, how do i save the output of q sys or q backup to a file? q sys > /tmp/qsys.txt is not working.

exit the dsmadmc consol and type dsmamc -se=xxx -pa=xxx q sys > /tmp/qsys.txt

You can also use "screen" and the "tee" command too.
