We're getting a complete new environment. Our SAN will be a Hitachi with iSCSI interface. I've a go for a complete new TSM environment. Our 5.3 will be fazed out. I can order a new server, do a fresh install of TSM 5.5. I can order a new library since our IBM 3584 is outdated (LTO1 drives). I'm thinking of buying the Dell ML6010. It has sas-drives, but there is also the option of an "iSCSI to SAS", does this have any advantage since our SAN is iSCSI? Do you have any tips for making the right choice?

Well right now I’m using StarWind software iSCSI Target on my old Dell Powerage server. I've added some hard drives to it and exported them via iSCSI. It's doing what a regular iSCSI SAN is supposed to do and it’s working great so far.

Hi,

iSCSI with 1 Gbps or 10 Gbps?

SAS= 3 Gbps...

Using 1 Gbps wouldn't make sense.
