Description

JOB SUMMARY

Provide Enterprise infrastructure direction in a fortune 100 company environment with national reach. These responsibilities will require the candidate to be a Subject Matter Expert across SAN, storage and network technologies, services, and additional related components (as listed for this position). The candidate must provide solutions that meet HCA's business requirements, and that align to infrastructure standards/policies to maintain service levels. The candidate will direct teams in the creation and implementation of short term and long term strategies related to SAN technologies. This will include the creation of and leadership of project efforts to implement such strategies. The individual will provide input to budget and portfolio activities related to the SAN technology landscape.

Position will be responsible for representing the Design & Engineering area by participating in the completion of the technical design schedule, estimating the complexity and duration of technical tasks and preparing risk assessment for program management. Leadership of the Technical Architecture Group for SAN/Storage. Responsible for developing deliverables and holding individuals accountable to the completion of those activities. The position will lead a team of 7-10 employees in this effort.

Position will be responsible for ensuring that solutions are designed, built and delivered in accordance with documented customer requirements based on defined services and/or applications as well as identifying the hardware and software features required to implement the architecture including the mapping of features to services and/or applications definitions.

Position will interact daily with the following internal departments; Security Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, Application Architecture, SM&D Solution Delivery, Service Support and external Business Partners, Vendors, as well as some end users on developing solutions that meet HCA business requirements.

Excellent written and oral communications skills regarding presentations, technical white papers, project estimates and proposals will be required. Project management and problem management skills are required to effectively meet HCA business objectives and Service Level Agreements. Team leadership skills required to assemble and lead teams of engineers on design and build efforts.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Create a short and long term strategy for SAN and Storage technologies. Direct a team of technical individuals in the research and creation of standards. Lead a Technical Architecture Group focused on SAN and Storage technologies (45% of time).

Work as a Lead Design Engineer or SME on Infrastructure projects providing detailed design specifications for SAN and Storage technologies. Perform Proof of Concept testing and certification testing of new technologies in a Lab environment. Support Delivery activities throughout the project lifecycle (305 of time).

3rd level support for SAN and Storage problem and incident efforts. Development of process and procedures for implementation and maintenance of SAN technologies. Develop and train SAN and Storage staff throughout the organization (15% of time).

Administrative activities such as project management, leading efforts, documentation, etc. (10% of time).



Qualifications

College graduate required undergraduate.
Qualified candidates will have more than 10 years of relevant work experience.
1-3 years of management work experience.

Cisco Data Networking Technologies
Layer 1-2 (ie: Trunking, VLANs, STP, Multicast, PPP, Frame/Relay, ATM, MPLS, Metro-E)
Layer 3 (ie: OSPF, BGP, Cisco VRFs, QOS, ACLs, Route redistribution, MPLS-VPNs, etc..)
Network Management Tools (ie: CiscoWorks, Voyence, IP-SLA, Netflow, SMNP, logging, etc..)
Network Security (ie: ACLs, Route-maps, IOS Firewall, ASA, routing protocol authentication, etc…)
General Enterprise Security knowledge (ie: Network design knowledge within a 1300+ router and 100+ FW environment.
Developing capacity planning strategies used by operational departments.
Cisco MDS SAN (MDS9513, 9216, 9222i), Mcdata Switches (MD6140)
IP management standards.
Network Services (DNS, DHCP, NTP, etc..)
EMC Clariion (CX3/4) EMC DMX 3/4, EMC V-MAX, IBM XIV, EMC Celerra, IBM NSeries NAS (NetApp)
