Does anyone configure / setup the TSM server with HA fail-over with cross-geo cluster environment?

Sounds like a challenge to implement. May not be feasible.

Some questions to answer assuming a cluster that is setup for active-passive:

How would the TSM clients connect to the new node? If the active node is in another city, and the clients are in the same geographical location as the failed node, how is backup to be performed - will the WAN link carry the load? Even if the disk pool is local to the failed node, how is it linked with the active node?

How about tape library failover? Will the tape library "follow" the active node?

Lastly, is TSM cluster aware? Not sure about this. Time to find out for sure.

There are setups for HA for TSM. I think in either the Admin Guide or a Redbook, but it walks you through adding the resource groups, startup/shutdown, etc. Not sure about the GEO option, but as long as the HA nodes shared a SAN between them, it should be very doable.
