Hello,
I have a big trouble because our backups RMAN-TDP are working very well (it seems) but we are trying to restore the database in another server (same configuration files) and now RMAN can find the controlfile and spfile but not remaining objects! :( The DBA and me have checked the configuration many many times and we haven't found answers :( Unfortunately I don't know a lot of RMAN, but my partner thinks that TSM is the problem. We are really worried about this and our boss is asking for a response as soon as possible. We really will appreciate all your help! Thank you.

It is a Tivoli Data Protection for Oracle: version 5.2.0.0.

It's impossible to find information about that last message... just "Report to your vendor" :(

don't think you can just restore a database to another server...
there is a unique ID to each RMAN instance -
you would have to first get that ID and log in to RMAN using it to see if it will let you see the data on the other server.

there are various other posts on this site on the issue -
just do a search (upper left of the main page) and you should be able to pull some good info up that will help...

good luck -
-Chef.

Solved!

Chef, thank you for your comment... we solved the problem, it was a RMAN policy that had been bad configurated and it was erasing the info from the day before... it means, files couldn't be restaured because RMAN had erase them! It was a RMAN problem, not a TSM problem. Thank you.
