the strange thing is SQL 2005 is only keeping 1 backup version but SQL 6.5 is keeping 30

how can that be??

Nabil

Hi,
Are you sure that SQL 2005 is only keeping 1 backup version and SQL 6.5 is keeping 30? How did you confirm that?

Rudy

I used the TDP gui, on the SQL 6.5 cleint is showing 30 versions and SQL 2005 just showing 1 version !!

Well, your policy differs from what is recommended:

-Set VERSIONS DATA EXISTS and VERSIONS DATA DELETED to NO LIMIT.
-Set RETAIN EXTRA VERSIONS and RETAIN ONLY VERSION to the desired amount
of days you want you want to be able to go back and restore from.

You might want to align it.
What TDP and TSM server version are you using to backup SQL 6.5?
