Hello,
Our DBAs are trying to coordinate an emergency move off of an old piece of hardware. The box is currently running SQL 2000 and they would like to restore to a new instance of SQL 2005. Is this possible?
So far the plan looks like:
1. Do a full backup of the old SQL server.
2. Shut down old server (making sure all users and systems are not accessing the dbs)
3. Do a full restore db by db to new SQL server.
Just wanted to know if this is a viable solution. Thanks in advance.
