Hi,
I'm currently recovering files from LTO tapes that were written with TSM.
Unfortunately the TSM server and it's DB is lost.
I found a lot of information here about reading tape data without TSM. The TSMtape utility was a big help although I had to rewrite a lot of it to work for my data.
Now I'm able to get the files back. Unfortunately it turns out that on some clients there was encryption enabled. I have the encryption key but so far I was unable to get anywhere with trying to decrypt the files and recover the needed information.

Can anybody provide information about the details of how the TSM client is encrypting the data?
I assume that it is AES 128, but to decrypt I need to know what the IVs are etc.
Any help would be appreciated.

The key was in the "backup and restore" process documentation. So the key is no issue.

Thanks.
