Restoring DB for DR test

Just trying to get a feel for our first DR recovery next month.

Windows 2003 Server
IBM TS3350 library, FC attached
LTO3 tapes

We have a 72gb database. Approximately how long would it take to restore the database?

In general you can expect 1.5 times the amount of time it takes to back it up in order to restore it. For example, if it takes 1 hour to backup the database, expect 1.5 hours to restore it. This is outside of the time it takes to format the DB and Log volumes.

A lot of it depends on the environment you're restoring to. If you're going to be in a DR vendor facility you can count having a slower environment than what you're using in production. I am referring to the speed of the disk and HBA and how they're connected.
