Hi there!
I need to restore a TSM DB on Linux. I created a new server 6.2.1 and I copied the configuration files dsmserv.opt, volhist.dat and devconf.dat in / home/tsminst1/tsminst1. Also i copied the files .DBV on the dir /tsmbackup1/dbbackup_disk.
Then run the command:

<tsminst1@tsm:/home/tsminst1/tsminst1 > /opt/tivoli/tsm/server/bin/dsmserv removedb tsmdb1

and them:

<tsminst1@tsm:/home/tsminst1/tsminst1 > /opt/tivoli/tsm/server/bin/dsmserv restore db source=dbbackup todate=01/26/2012

Greetings!

Hello,

When you installed the new TSM server - have you initialized it fully? Does the TSM (DB2) instance exist? Anything in the DB2 logs (or system logs). Do you have the same version of the TSM server as the original? Have you copied (have you created) the correct dsm.sys/tsmdbmgr.opt files?

Harry

thanks

Hello Harry, good afternoon.
Indeed the server was operating at 100%, the instance was configured correctly and properly configured DB2. the file Tsmdbmgr.opt was created but I copied the file of the server that I want to restore. The TSM server version was 6.2.1 and I created all routes as they appear both in the configuration files as in dsmserv.opt
I tried more than 10 times with different settings and different versions of TSM, but always appear the same error.
I will send the configuration files to review:

Greetings! and Thanks!

Hi,

I do not see any obvious error right now. You said you have initialized the TSM server (the instance you are overwriting now) - have you tried backing up its database (to see if DB backup settings are correct)?
What about rights on all the files? Are they readable for tsminst1 user?
Unlikely but possible - what about missing es_ES language package?

Harry

Thanks Harry, i used the PRM services of IBM. They help me to resolve this puzzle :)
