I've recently been working w/ my IBM rep. on getting a TSM client for FreeBSD.

With a couple of our recent additions, the vendor's applications run on FreeBSD servers.

Currently our backup options for these servers consisted of either backing up thru NFS-mounts or FTP'ing to a TSM-supported Operating System.

That was IBM & Tivoli Supports' recommendations also...

But - it was recommended that we can submit requests for FreeBSD to be considered in future releases...

Please, if you're even curious, log a request w/ your IBM contacts for a FreeBSD-TSM client.

Thanks,

Troy

Even if you can make Linux client working under the compatibility mode, a backup product is better to be a native application.

I concur with Troy. Please keep bugging your IBM reps to push the requests for FreeBSD client. This is the only way to make it released.

Thank you!
