I have a gpfs cluster I take backup off. To prevent archive worthy files to be changed I have set the files to immutable. The problem with this is of cause tsm have to backup all of the files again (tens of millions). Is there a way find out if the active and inactive backup have the same file content? Some sort of checksum? I could look at the file size, but I hope for some thing better. This way I can delete the inactive backup.
