Hello,

I've a question concerning filespace capacity:
The filespace of our fileserver node has a capacity of approx. 5.7 TB, but only 1.2 TB is used.
Our storage has a utilization above 90% and we can not increase the storage space.

For that reason two questions:
1. What can be the reason of the high filespace capacity?
2. Is ist possible to reduce the filespace capacity?

By the way: Deleting the filespace can not be a solution becaue we loose the inactive versions of the files.

Thank you very much for help!

Q1. The filespace capacity is actually the capacity of the filesystem backed up, so in this case, the capacity of D: on z021spwmk1file2. So this has nothing to do with the amount of data backed up, just how big the disk is on the client. So the larger the disk, the larger the filespace capacity.

Q2. Yes by making the disk smaller on the client, but this will do nothing to help you with the storage pool that is 90% full.

You really only have 3 options here:
1 - add more storage to EASY_POOL EASY_POOL
2 - reduce the retention policy (less versions and/or less days) so that you store less data
3 - add excludes to the client to stop backing up data that you may not need backed up
