Hi all,

I have a TSM Server 5.5 installed in an AIX box. The DRM Plan file size is very big its around 10MB, It will take long time to copy and as well as recover using such a big file in case of DR, Is there any way to reduce the size of the file.

Thanks
Srikanth

None that I know of. The size is proportional to the number of tapes, storage pools, and configuration you have. The more tapes and pools, the bigger will be your DR Plan.

Srikanth, that sounds large. How much volume history do you keep? I keep 40 days and my DRM plan file is 136KB, with volume history using 80KB of that.

Copy out volume history and save to another file just to see how much of the file is dedicated to that. Maybe you don't need to keep as much volume history as you keep?

Its probably volume history stuff.

Make sure you're doing a del volhist type=stgnew / stgdel /stgreuse each day, (make sure you keep the last X days worth of these where X=your db retention period plus a week or so.
