reclamation problems

getting the following messages



ANR1040I Space reclamation started for volume 000127,

storage pool COPYPOOL (process number 1880).

ANR1044I Removable volume 000127 is required for space

reclamation.



This is causing my reclamation process to fail

We do not do any tape rotations in/out of the library so I dont understand what this message is telling me. Any ideas?

Look through the act log AFTER that message and determine if that volume was mounted. If not, check to see if the tape access has been changed to READONLY or UNAVAILABLE.



Usually Reclamation failing is cause by tapes being unable to delete the information. When Reclamation hits a tape that is Unavailable, it causes the reclamation to loop, and it will run 24x7.

Eventually found one of my tape paths was off line

updated tape path to on-line and reclamations burst into life
