We're using NDMP to backup up our Celerra. We're on a Windows 2003 x64 server, running TSM 5.5.2. We are creating an offsite copy of the nightly diffs and monthly fulls. I tried to run a reclaim stg pool on the offsite copy pool but I get:

ANR2539E RECLAIM STGPOOL: Storage pool COPYNDMP does not have a valid dataformat.
ANS8001I Return code 3.

Further reading uncovered that you cannot reclaim CELERRADUMP data format storage pools. So, the question is, how do you "reclaim" the tapes in these types of pools? Does TSM just know that they will need to be returned through the expiration process once retentions are reached?

Thanks,
Randy

Hello,

yes they expire and are scratch afterwards.

i had some which wouldnt get empty , dunno for whatever error: i cleaned those:

delete volume 000005L4 discarddata=yes
move media 000005L4 stg=NDMPPOOL wherestate=mountablenotinlib wherestatus=empty
run tapecheckin

ndmppool is my ndmp format tapepool, tapecheckin is a script for simple checkin
