Receiving error156 "Snapshot error encountered" for a server that is not VM

A few days ago I started to receive a 156 "Snapshot error encountered" error for 3 servers. The only thing is... these servers are not virtual machines. They are standalone physical servers doing standard file level backups. This has me a little stumped. We are running version 7601 on both the master and the client. All client servers are running Windows server 2003. I have not been able to find much ( anything ) about this happening and how to go about fixing it.

Help is greatly appreciated.
