Why is the default root volume name created in a NET APP NAS box, installed with ONTAP named as /vol/vol0. And further partitions are named as /vol/vol1, /vol/vol2 etc. Why is it all under the /vol?? Why cant it go as /vol0, /vol1, /vol2 etc.. Any specific readons??

Hello.
If you know the "/vol" it is a WAFL and others vol created undet WAFL vol.
 
/vol is like root in Unix environment.
