Dear friends,
everywhere we can read the maximum transfer rate for tape drives, but in real environments the minimum speed to avoid shoe-shining is even more important. All the manufacturers write "up to ...", noone writes "from ... to ..."

Does anyone know this value for LTO9 drives or where I can read this? Thanks in advance!

Edit: the right search terms can help! Found it here:

"Digital speed matching: LTO-9 tape drives are designed to perform dynamic speed matching from 180 to 400 MBps to adjust the drive's native data rate as closely as possible to the net host data rate after data compressibility has been factored out. This helps reduce the number of backhitch repositions and improve throughput performance. Speed matching on LTO-8 ranges from 112 to 360 MBps."
