Problem with TDP 6.1.3 and Exchange 2010

Hello,

we are currently installing TDP 6.1.3 for Exchange 2010.
Our Server is running on Level 5.5.4.2 (win2k3) and I'm using TSM BAC 6.2.2.0 as local client. OS is Windows 2008 R2.

Whren I try doing a Backup the following Error occurs while connecting the local client:

ANS0322E (RC5853) no text available for this return code.

and

ACN5060E A Tivoli Storage Manager API error has occured

Does anyone know what i can try - Reinstall and different configurations did not help.

Is there anything recorded in the Event Log?

Also, there are a few TSM services that need to be running so that the TDP client can proxy through the BA client. I think they are the Client Acceptor Daemon Service and Remote Client Agent Service.

Hi Tom,

the needed Services are running (TSM Client Acceptor). The Remote Client Agent is beeing started if needed and this works.
The only Log, which shows me an error is the tdpexc.log:

ACN5917I The mailbox history has been successfully updated on the TSM Server.
ANS0322E (RC5853) no text available for this return code.
ACN5060E A Tivoli Storage Manager API error has occurred.

The local BA Client is also arranged as proxy node and the Server Log shows me that it is right
so I don't know what i could do...

Looks like a problem with VSS. Check the steps for the Exchange Server side - there are a lot of similar steps and the documentation isn't exactly straightforward.

Right now the backup works...

Don't believe in what the manual says:
"Tivoli Storage Manager backup-archive client Version 6.2.1 is required when
running in an Exchange Server 2010 environment."

In my case I have now installed the BA client 6.2.2 (instead of 6.2.1.3) and the error has been cleared.

I have the same problem rigth now, client level is at 6.2.1 and tdp 6.1.3.1. So I just need to upgrade client to 6.2.2 or uninstall evrything and then install client to 6.2.2 and later install tpd for mail to level 6.1.3.1??

I think upgrade to 6.2.2 is enough.

Do I need to setup this tdpexc.cfg for mailbox restore?
which is the default directory for db and log?
CAS option.. IP or name?
