I have a question about IBM Spectrum Protect server

We have IBM SP server ver. 7.1.7, and primary disk storage pool (devclass=disk). In backup window all data goes to this storage pool. There are 7 volumes in this disk storage pool, and behind these 7 volumes are 3 physical disk groups.
Our problem is: sometimes our server uses only one or two of our 7 disk volumes (only one physical disk group). In this case our backup runs very slow.
Is there any way (any option, any parameter or something) to tell IBM SP server to write data simultaneously to all volumes in our disk storage pool?

Hi,

I do not think you can tell SP that.

I would solve that issue on an OS level. On AIX, make a volumegroup of all the disks, then make logical volumes that spans all the drives. I guess the same is true for LVM and linux. On windows, I am not sure.

Thank you for reply ;-)
