When you have multiple TSM servers, you can access all of them with a prefix. This is especially a nice feature when you collect data in reports.

1. How can I see what the servers prefix is set to?
2. If none is set, how do I set one?
3. Can I set multiple prefixes for groups of servers?

Each server that you designate will be a separate dsm.sys stanza or dsm.opt file (Windows) via the "Servername" entry. When scripting or using command line entries - you will be using the <-se> switch to make the connection. You may also want to isolate each server via a separate IP and/or Port number when configuring the dsm.sys stanza or dsm.opt file.

When you create a server group - you elect the group name: assign the memberships; and then from the command line your entry will be similar to <groupname>: TSM command. This is particularly useful in a Centrally Managed configuration.

Good luck
