Possible to read Solstice backup tapes with Windows Networker?

I've searched around but can't find an answer. Hoping someone here can offer advice.

We have some old tapes which we'd like to restore from. The tapes were written using Solstice Backup (Solaris). We'd like to try to recover using Windows 2003 & Networker (using the original drive).

Does anyone know if this is possible or are we tied to using the OS with which the tapes were written?

Hi Tammy,
You will have to restore using the same OS/software using which you had done the backup. NetWorker can recover only backups that were done using NetWorker software.

I bet it will work - - SUN EBS / Solstice backup is rebranded Legato Networker - the on-tape format should be the same... did you try running "Scanner" on the tapes from windows to see if it can find savesets? let us know if this worked!
