Outlook Express DBX recovery

Hi,
While auto compacting was running on the Outlook express 6 for long time and it gave pop up 'OK' or 'CANCEL' I selected 'OK' but still there was no response and it showed not responding , finally closed OE.
There were many folders created under the local folders and many mails in these sub-folders, but now i can see only the folders and all mails from that folders have disappeared. Also I searched and found the DBX files are present under c:\docs & settings \ user profile\local settings\ appp data \ identies\....
Please suggest best guaranteed software or application by which these mails can be recovered.
