Oracle db backup with single drive

Hi

I need to backup oracle db to TSM with automated tape library but i have only one drive for it.
DB logs will be keep in TSM tape storage pool also DB will be backuped directly to tape.
It is possible to do with single drive ?

It's possible, but it can be a challenge to manage.
- if you want an offsite copy, you need a diskpool big enough to hold the backup, make the offsite copy, then migrate the onsite copy to tape
- you will also need a diskpool to perform tape reclamation

The additional work and time required to support an environment with a single drive should provide you a good business case for a second drive.
