Oracle 12c backup failed to TSM server v5.5.5.0

Hello,

I am trying to backup oracle 12c database located in Linux OS RHEL 6 x86_64 bit client server using TDP for Oracle v7.1.0 client to my TSM server v5.5.5.0 but backup starts and then after long time waiting backup finally fails after TSM server idletimeout value has been reached and connection is terminated.

TSM BA Client and API: v7.1.1
TDP for Oracle: v7.1.0

No network issues reported between client server and TSM server. ping stats are good.

I know v7.1.0 TDP client is not supported with TSM server v5.5 but has anybody done successful backup for oracle 12c database using TDP for Oracle client v7.1.0 or with lower TDP versions like v6.3 to TSM server v5.5.5.0?

My main target is to backup oracle 12c to TSM server v5.5.
If its not possible then we have to upgrade our TSM server to v6.3 as we have only 1 TSM server.

TSM B/A & API 6.1 and 6.2 are compatible with TSM Server 5.5.

TDP for Oracl 7.1 need TSM API 7.1

You can attempt to backup Oracle via the TDP 7.1 with TSM API 7.1 to a TSM Server 5.5, the results are unknown and don't bother to call support. They will tell you to upgrade the TSM Server .

If you can backup the Oracle to a flat file, then use the TSM B/A Client to backup the flat file.
